Here are the worship songs selected by our worship team for this week:
Scripture: Matthew 4:12 – 5:2
Sermon Reflection & Discussion Questions:
1. Before this sermon, what did you think the central message of Jesus is? How does it reshape your understanding of what Jesus was doing and teaching in light of the context of the Kingdom of Heaven?
2. Jesus invites people to repent or to think again of their understanding of the world and how it works. What obstacles or challenges arise when it comes to rethinking about how the world works?
3. Jesus’s first disciples were 4 unknown fishermen and he invites them to give up everything to follow him. What’s the hardest thing for people around you to give up? What would be the hardest thing for you to give up right now? What would be easiest to give up?
4. Jesus announces the arrival of the Kingdom, the Kingdom way of life, and Kingdom values, which in turn means it challenges and clashes with our own kingdoms, our ways of life, and our values. What way of life are you accustomed to that you don’t want Jesus to challenge? What values do you hold, that you think might be correct but aren’t Jesus’s values?
